🛏️ Title: “A Very Normal Day”
A bedtime story for any age
(Not much happens. That’s the point.)
Once there was a person named Sam.
Sam was not big.
Not small.
Not loud.
Not quiet.
Just… Sam.
Sam woke up when the clock said 7:00.
The clock made a small beep.
Not loud. Not soft. Just… beep.
Sam sat up.
Then blinked.
One blink.
Another blink.
A third blink.
Then Sam stood up.
Left foot.
Right foot.
Yawn.
Sam walked to the kitchen.
Sam picked a cup.
It was a plain cup.
No words.
No colors.
Just a cup.
Sam poured warm water.
Then made toast.
The toast was… toast.
Not burnt.
Not soft.
Just… brown.
Sam ate the toast.
One bite.
Then another.
Then a sip of warm water.
Sam looked out the window.
The sky was not blue.
Not gray.
It was kind of... sky-ish.
A bird flew by.
It did not sing.
It just flew.
A slow flap.
Then gone.
Then Sam sat on a chair.
Not a soft chair.
Not a hard one.
Just a chair.
Sam looked at the wall.
The wall looked back.
Or maybe not.
It was just a wall.
Sam got a book.
The book was called Some Thoughts.
Sam read a word.
Then another.
Then looked at the wall again.
After that, Sam took a walk.
Past a tree.
Past a rock.
Past a bench with no one on it.
Sam came home.
Ate rice.
No salt.
No sauce.
Just rice.
Sam brushed teeth.
Up.
Down.
Spit.
Done.
Then Sam got in bed.
The sheet was not warm.
Not cold.
Just there.
Sam blinked once.
Then twice.
Then a third time.
And then…
Sam slept.
Zzz.
